Berlin is served by three airports:
TEGEL - the biggest and most modern,
situated in the northern suburbs. Handles flights to / from: Western
Europe and the UK, the Mediterranean, western Germany and charter
flights everywhere.

Access to city centre east (Friedrichstraße,
Stadtmitte) via by JetExpress (TXL), ticket costs € 3.10,
available from driver; or via Bus 128 (change to U6 at Kurt-Schumacher-Platz,
direction Alt-Mariendorf), ticket costs €2.10, available
from machine at Airport or bus driver. Access to city centre west
(Zoo) via JetExpress (X9), ticket costs € 3.10, available
from driver; or via Bus 109 for Charlottenburg or for Zoo (change
to U8 at Jakob-Kaiser-Platz, direction Rudow, change to U2 at
Bismarckstraße, direction Vinetastraße), or Ku'damm (change to
U9 at Zoo, direction Steglitz), ticket costs € 2.10 from

SCHÖNEFELD - the old East German
airport, a couple of miles to the south-east of the city. Handles
flights to / from: Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia, some German
cities and charter flights everywhere. And is soon to be developed
into Berlin's major airport.

trains from the inner city stations:
RE4, RE5, RB22, RB24, S45, S9, 171, N46, N60

Free shuttle bus service from the train station S Flughafen Berlin-Schönefeld
to the Airport Main Building leaves every 10 minutes.

TEMPELHOF - the oldest airport built in the 20s, right in the
centre of the city, and soon to be closed.Handles primarily flights
to / from: Brussels and German cities.

Linked directly to U-Bahn system
(10 minutes to Unter den Linden, on U6, direction Alt-Tegel) and
bus lines running east and west. Ticket costs €2.10 from
machine in U-Bahn station Platz der Luftbrücke directly outside
airport, or from bus driver.
Underground train - U6 - to Platz
der Luftbrücke or by buses 119, 184, 341 to Flughafen Tempelhof
and 104, N4, N76 to the train station - U Platz der Luftbrücke.

Taxi ranks at all three airports.
Both Tegel and Schönefeld have a
wide range of modern airport facilities, including banks, exchange
facilities, car hire, cafes, newsagents and gift shops, although
there are fewer night flights and these are mostly open 07.00
am to 11.00 pm. Tempelhof has far fewer flights and restricted
services.
